Aliens & Space

There is an age old question lurking in the minds of everyone on earth. The question is; "Is there intelligent life on other planets, and do aliens exist?"
To some people, the idea of aliens and UFOs is a scary notion. If there were aliens out there, they would rather not know about it and wouldn't believe it even if they saw it with their own eyes. To other people, the idea of aliens and UFOs is very intriguing and, in fact, seems to make a lot of sense.
Do you believe in aliens or intelligent life on other planets? Before you answer that, let's look at some new interesting facts.
With new technology, scientists have estimated that there are 10 trillion planetary systems in the universe, with 10% of those planets containing some form of life. This number is outstanding when you think about it. This makes us feel not so alone in the universe.
Astronomers have also discovered a potentially habitable planet of similar size to Earth in orbit around a nearby star. A team of planet hunters spotted the alien world circling a red dwarf star called Gliese 581, 20 light years away. Gliese 581g, has a mass of three to four times that of Earth and takes 37 days to orbit the star. Astronomers believe this planet has enough gravity to retain an atmosphere. This means that many forms of life could thrive on the warmer side of the planet.
How many people believe in aliens or forms of intelligent life on other planets? Well, to find the answer, CNN did a poll asking people these very questions, here is what they found:
80 percent of Americans think the government is hiding knowledge of the existence of extraterrestrial life forms.
54 percent believe intelligent life exists outside Earth.
37 percent believe aliens have contacted the U.S. government
Do you believe?
The History Of Aliens
If aliens really do exist, some people will first question how long have we known about aliens. When did UFOs and aliens first reveal themselves to us, and when was the first contact made? To answer these questions, we have to first take a look back in history. This means going on a fact-finding mission to see what shows up in old history text. Did anyone from the past mention anything about aliens? You might be interested to know, that images of aliens and UFOs showed up in old cave paintings, scrolls, sculptures, Egyptian hieroglyphics and also in 17th century paintings.
The first painting, titled "The Baptism of Christ" was painted in 1710 by Aert De Gelder. You can clearly see a UFO in the sky, shining a beam of light down on baby Jesus. This looks like no Angel or depiction of God that I have ever seen, it looks like a UFO to me. The second picture below is 3,000 year old Egyptian hieroglyphs found at new kingdom temple in Abydos. Notice what looks exactly like a helicopter and the other an airplane. How did they know of such things back then? These are just a few examples of UFOs and Aliens in our history.
The Roswell Story
On the evening of July 2nd in 1947 during a severe thunderstorm, a flying saucer cashed at a ranch in Corona, New Mexico. The closest military base was in Roswell New Mexico, so therefore, the reason why this case is referred to as the Roswell crash.
The following is a timeline of how the events took place.
In the Summer of 1947, many people in Roswell report seeing lots of unexplained lights in the sky, including William Woody and his father, who report observing a bright arching light with a red contrail, traveling South to North across the sky and disappearing below the Northern horizon.
On Wednesday, July 2nd, around 9:50pm, Mr. & Mrs. Dan Wilmot report seeing an oval shaped UFO from their house in Roswell. Dan Wilmot reports the craft to be about 20 feet in diameter and flying very fast. Later, Mr. Wilmot and other neighbors report hearing a loud crash.
The following day, Mac Brazil accompanied by 7-year-old neighbor, Dee Proctor, find large amounts of light-weight metallic debris strewn out all over the ground in a large pasture at the Foster Ranch.
When Brazel and Dee drove back home, he showed a piece of the wreckage to Dee's parents, Floyd and Loretta Proctor. It was agreed that the pieces were like nothing anyone had ever seen before. Mac decides to hide a large circular piece of the debris in his shed.
The next day while he was in the town of Corona to get supplies, Mac Brazel overhears of a $3,000 reward for the recovery of a missing crashed flying saucer. Because of this, Brazel decides to bring some pieces of debris to the county sheriff, George Wilcox. After looking at the debris and deciding that it is not of this world, Wilcox decides to call Roswell Army Air Field and talk to Major Jesse Marcel, who was the intelligence officer.
After examining the pieces at the sheriffs office, Jesse Marcel has the debris sent to the Eighth Air Force headquarters in Fort Worth, and from there to Washington. Then Marcel and his commanding officer, Cavitt, decide to go to the Foster ranch to look at the rest of the debris.
Marcel and Cavitt examined more of the wreckage at the Foster ranch. They discovered something very interesting; there were pink-purple and lavender symbols along the center sections of some of the small metallic "I" beams in amongst the debris. They loaded up their cars with more of the debris and headed back to Roswell AAF.

On July 8th,the intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment group at Roswell Army Air Field announced that the field had come into possession of a flying saucer. According to information released by the department of intelligence, the disk was recovered on a ranch in the Roswell vicinity, after an unidentified rancher had notified Sheriff George Wilcox that he had found the instrument on his premises.
News of the recovery spreads as the story hits the wire services. Phone lines at the base, at the sheriff's office, and at newspaper and radio news offices are tied up. The only newspapers that carried the initial flying saucer version of the story were evening papers from the Midwest to the West, including the Chicago Daily News, the Los Angeles Herald Express, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Roswell Daily Record.
Highway 285 and all the exits leading to the Foster ranch, were closed off to all traffic. The U.S Military then begins a major clean up of the crash site. Barney Barnett and a group of students and archaeologists were on a field trip. They happen onto the crash site by accident and get escorted off by military police, but not before they had a chance to see saucer debris and alien bodies.
Crash debris was loaded onto C-54 and B-29 military planes and flown to the Eighth Air Force headquarters in Fort Worth Texas, and from there to Washington. Sgt. Melvin Brown, who was helping with the clean up, looks under a tarp on the back of a truck at the impact site and sees several alien-looking bodies.
Glenn Dennis, a local mortician, is contacted by the Roswell Airbase. They have inquiries about tissue preservation and what were the smallest caskets he had available.
The truck carrying the alien bodies arrives at the airbase. Pathologist Dr. Jesse Johnson attempts a preliminary autopsy at the base hospital. The bodies are then loaded in a crate and flown in a military transport plane to Fort Worth Texas.
Balloon debris
On July 9th, major Marcel and General Ramey, hold a press conference. The flying saucer debris is substituted with pieces of foil from a weather balloon. Photographs are taken of Marcel and Ramey with the balloon remnants. Ramey issues a statement claiming that the Roswell officers were fooled and that the material found was from a downed weather balloon. Mac Brazil is then picked up by military police and took back to the base for questioning. He then is is escorted to the office of the Roswell Daily Record, where he tells the reporters the new version of his story, involving a weather balloon.
On July 11th, The clean up of the crash site is finally finished. MPs and others involved in the retrieval of the debris are debriefed and told to forget that it happened.
For over 50 years the cover-up has held and still continues today. Many UFO researchers have spent their lives investigating this incident and still await the smoking gun to find out what really happened on July 1947 on the Foster Ranch.
